Homework  

Weekly homework should take no more than half an hour each night and should be comprised of reading, learning Tables/basic facts and spelling words as the core components. Students may bring Chrome Books home and work on Mathletics or Studyladder activities or work on writing stories but this is not expected or required. 

Students bring a five to ten word list home - this comes from their writing or essential list words they need to master. They need to learn to spell these words using the 5 step method - read, say, spell out loud, cover and write it down and check. Put each word in a sentence to show meaning.We also have talk topics where each student is allocated a day to share and item of news. It should be a fun way for parents and children to work together.
